BODY AND SOUL
I want to talk to you about your body!
I’m sure there will have been lots of other people in the past who have wanted to talk about your body! But I would like to mention it in a different sort of way.
I’m speaking here - from my Soul, and these are statements that resonate with my Soul and I hope they will resonate deeply in you, to the depths of your own Soul.
So I want to talk to you about your body.
And I will also mention my own body too, just so you know that what I say about your body applies equally to mine as well !
Your body is a vehicle, a machine for living in.
Le Corbusier, the French architect, described the house as “a machine for living in”.
I refer to my body as “a machine for living in.”
It is a wonderful piece of design.
Your body ‘contains’ you, like a house; it stands firmly on the ground; you can see out of it, your eyes are the windows of your soul.
Like a house, it has an efficient central heating system, driven by the breath and it has an amazing wiring system, each tiny section of it being linked to the control centre – the brain – the nerve centre, a receiving set for thought impulses.
You might look upon my body, that I consider to be a most wonderful piece of design, and you may make certain judgements about it, or not as is your way. You may think I’m kidding myself about my body – what have you been looking at all these years – Yuk! you might say!!
But I have to tell you that “I love my body”.
Yes I love it.
Not in a narcissistic way, being in love with
myself in a vain sort of way; not that at all.
But I look down at my body, I see it in the mirror and I see REAL beauty – a beautiful design, a magnificent machine. My body is here for me to use during my lifetime and therefore it suits my Purpose.
Purpose! You say. I’ve heard that word before, and I say to you also that that too is a beautiful thing. Purpose.
What is Purpose? What is my Purpose? Do I have a Purpose? Is it relevant? Is it necessary to consider that there is a Purpose?
Well, I believe it is relevant and necessary.
And what’s more, I need my body to enable me to carry out my purpose. Without my body I do not exist on this Earth, I have not incarnated, therefore my Purpose cannot be expressed.
Therefore my body and my Purpose are inextricably linked. One depends upon the other. To carry out my life’s Purpose, whatever that might be, requires me to inhabit a body.
My body, therefore, is Important. To Me. It is important to the smooth and efficient execution of my Purpose.
Whatever your life’s Purpose may be - you need your body in order that you too can carry it out. Effectively.
AN EXERCISE Just for a moment or two - consider yourself - Inside your Body. Your body is beautiful. It is wonderful. You can do all manner of things with it.
Now hold up your right hand in front of you and look at it. Really look at it.
Then bend your thumb - and straighten it. Now bend your index finger - and straighten it. Then your middle finger the same.
To enable you to do such a simple task, what had to happen?
You needed to HAVE A THOUGHT.
You needed to use that thought to activate the finger.
Do it again only this time just bend your thumb really slowly, very controlled, and back again.
Then bend it quickly and back.
Notice the slightly different type of thought that you had to receive, and then use, in the two actions.
You were putting Thought into Action.
Okay, so back to our body as a whole.
We inhabit a body, and I term it “a machine for living in”.
And we activate the body by the use of thought. Fascinating isn’t it.
Simple yet wonderful, and most of the time we take it for granted. We expect it to respond at any particular moment, and it complies - much of the time. If we have the thoughts, and our body is in fairly okay condition, we can put the thoughts into action and off we go ……….bending our fingers for no apparent reason!!
So a reminder - we have a body, It’s our home in this lifetime, we activate it by using thoughts and we can put it to use for carrying out our Purposeful Existence. Doing things for a reason.
So off we all go, activating our body, thinking of things to do, twiddling our fingers, getting on with our daily lives.
A Brilliant Super-Efficient System.
As we get on with our life, we hardly give our body a thought, sometimes hardly know it’s there!, so engrossed have we become in our thinking and doing, taking it all for granted. This body that is activated by thought - we hardly give it a thought! It automatically responds to our instructions. So quick. So efficient.
Now…. we are so busy, busy, busy getting on with our lives, using millions and millions of thoughts every day, even for the most mundane of tasks, and we are so engrossed with it all, the sense impressions we receive, listening to the words people say, doing the things we are doing at any particular time, that after many years in the doing all this automatic stuff, we are not really thinking, or considering, the types or qualities of thought we are putting into use to activate our bodies.
So habitual have our body responses to our thought processes become, that we have trained ourselves to ignore many of those activating processes of thought and we are not actually aware of whether those processes are as efficient as they could be. Even the thought processes that we have been Conditioned to use are so habitual that we are not
always Aware of what is happening in our body.
As we have seen with this super-efficient machine it works well for us, especially when we use clear thought (remember moving the thumb slowly) beautifully smooth and gentle. But we all know that when we are constantly in a state of Tense Thought Usage our body, for some reason, can respond in a way that does not always feel smooth and gentle. What happens then? What happens when there are continuous jarring un-smooth thought processes going on in our mind?
Do we feel wonderful? No we don’t. Our body now responds in a not-so-gentle way - we get a twinge, a pain, a stabbing feeling. Or a knot in our stomach or ‘butterflies’.
These physical reactions, when we notice them, are showing us a little (at first) that we are using un-smooth thoughts, jarring ways of thinking and of putting those thoughts into action.
A Physical Re-action is the result.
How many of us have experienced some kind of physical reaction in our bodies as a result of
“un-cool” thoughts and actions?
How many of us have ignored such messages in our bodies?
Yes, this is our body’s way of relaying necessary messages back to us when we give it the wrong type of thought impulses.
And I mention the word ‘wrong’ on purpose.
Because this body of ours is the Super-Efficient machine, which if handled and Used and
Activated in accordance with the Purpose it was
designed for, will give good and pain-free service for the whole of our life. Yes, it was designed to carry out the necessary tasks our soul wishes it to carry out. It is WE who are ignoring our body’s messages.
Will we ever listen? And will we act upon the messages we hear?
If we don’t, and I would say that looking around me in life at the bodies I see every day of my life, that mainly WE DO NOT LISTEN!
We are so Conditioned to hear only our Emotional Track of Thinking that we have become so addicted to, that we no longer hear our body, less still our thoughts,; and even when we do feel it, are FORCED to do so by the undue Pain and Illness that results from our uncaring ways, we do not really GET THE MESSAGE.
We are taught to rely on someone else to SORT US OUT when in fact it is we who can sort
ourselves out with a bit of different type of
training.
So my message is this : -
Begin to Listen To Your Body and Ask It
What Message it Has For You.
Ask it What your lifestyle is Creating Within It.
Our Body Never Lies.
The Answers to Our Questions Lie Within.
So, To Summarise : -
Your body is a machine for living in.
It is a wonderful piece of design.
Your body suits your Purpose.
Body and Purpose are Inextricably linked.
Your Body is Important.
Thought Activates the Body
It is a Brilliant Super-Efficient System
It operates best when we use Smooth Clear
Gentle Thought
If we use Tense Uncaring Thought - Our body Responds in a Similar way
We get a Physical Re-Action. This is a Message.
Often we ignore the messages. We do not listen.
The more Emotional the Thought, the Stronger the Reaction
Pain and Illness result from Consistently Ignoring the Messages
So next time you feel a twinge or a pain or you have an illness - go inside to the source of the pain and ask your Inner Self, ask yourself, what is the message that your body is trying to relay to you via this feeling?
You may be surprised at the answer you receive.
Your Enlightenment is Within Your Own Thoughts, Within your Body.
Listen To Them!
